Active-Smokers:
Lungs are not spared so far

The active smokers have the same risk of lung cancer than sedentary.
Smokers who think that walking, cycling, swimming or practicing another physical activity reduces the risk of lung cancer are wrong.
So says a study published in the International Journal of Cancer.
More than 25,000 men aged 50 to 69 years were followed during this study.
They smoked at least five cigarettes per day.
After ten years of follow up, lung cancer was diagnosed in more than 1,400 participants.
The results show that physical activity does not influence the risk of lung cancer.
There would, however, a slightly lower risk among younger smokers in the group studied who are physically active.
